Starigrad
If you drive down the Adriatic highway, you will find the charming village of Starigrad about 40 kilometres away from Zadar at the entrance of the National Park of Paklenica. Located at the foothills of the Velebit range, this village is an ideal destination for those who like to combine sea side and walking holidays. Surrounding the town there are preserved remains from Roman times, as well as from more recent history (from the time of the Ottoman invaders and similar). Starigrad has pretty sandy beaches that are a total of 20 kilometres long, and every visitor is able to find their quiet corner or enjoy one of the tidy swimming areas.

You can find accommodation in the hotel, private apartments or auto camp, which include a wide variety of entertainments for fun and recreation. The tennis courts, water sports, mountain paths and routes will satisfy everyone and in the evenings you can relax in one of the restaurants, inns and nightclubs. Starigrad is right at the entrance to the National Park of Paklenica, and it has excellent access to Velebit, which because of its natural beauty has been voted a Nature Park. There are probably not many places where in the morning you can hike up to high peaks and in the afternoon enjoy yourself on the sunny beaches. Starigrad is one of these places. Come and see for yourself!
