Poreč is situated on the west coast of Istria, and has been a traditional tourist centre for the last 160 years. It is a favourite with visitors because of its clean beaches, and the numerous little islands that are close to the city port. The largest and most beautiful island is St Nicholas, where one of the oldest lighthouses [built in 1402] on the Adriatic coast can found.
