The island of Lošinj, whose history started in the twelfth century, is one of the favourite islands in the Adriatic today and a well-known sports-fishing centre on the Adriatic.

Veli Lošinj is known as a home for sailors, and a summer residence for ancient noble families. Their houses still provoke admiration with their magnificent appearance and orderly setting. The gardens of Lošinj are particularly beautiful, with 200 different types of trees and a total of 1100 types of plant from all over the world, which sailors have brought back from their travels. The accommodation and entertainment in Veli Lošinj is suitable for all ages, and the most beautiful beach is in the port of Rovenska. The fact that there is a colony of dolphins – a protected species -around the island says all that needs to be said about the natural beauty and the cleanliness of the sea.
