Ilovik is the most southerly island of the Lošinj archipelago and home to 170 inhabitants. The locals engage in the production of wine, gardening and fishing, and the island is famous for its magnificent flowers that decorate the gardens and smallholdings.
There is a daily ferry to Ilovik from Lošinj and a catamaran from Rijeka. The island is 5.8km2, and Paržine has the largest bay with a sandy beach on the south east side of the island.
The church of St Peter is in the village, and the deceased are taken by boat to the town graveyard, which is located on a nearby island. In addition to appreciating Ilovik’s beautiful scenery, you can also examine the remains of living quarters from Antique times, as well as from the times when the Venetians ruled.
You can stay in private accommodation, and on the island you have a shop, a post office, a bakery, an ice cream shop and a number of places to eat.
