An attractive village, whose inhabitants are just discovering their tourism potential. Matulji is located on the border between the coastal and mountainous parts of Croatia, which gives the village’s climate a special quality. The summer days are hot but the nights are cool making it comfortable for sleeping.
The interesting topography offers mountain walking, cycling, idyllic walks in nature and even a photo safari. Undiscovered caves hide in the slopes of the Forest Park Lisina, as well as a beautiful view on Kvarner and Istria, and many plant and animal species.
Nearby there is an auto camp with all the necessary amenities and a wide range of recreational activities.
Matulji is particularly alive at the beginning of the year, when the ‘Festival of Bell ringers’ is held, a typical custom in these parts when they mark the beginning of spring with bells and traditional masks.
It is possible to find accommodation in one of the many households, and the inns and numerous restaurants are proud of their local specialities.
