Kraljevica is famous for having one of the oldest Mediterranean shipyards, whose first documents come from long ago 1729. Today Kraljevica has 3000 inhabitants, and is one of the favourite summer holiday spots near Rijeka, since although it is separated from the bustle of the city it is also near all the facilities that a large city offers.
Two castles from the Middle Ages stand out in the town, both from the ruling periods of the noble families Zrinski and Frankopan. Although they are abandoned, they are filled in the summer with cultural events – exhibitions, festivals and performances.
You can stay in one of the hotels, motels, auto camps or private apartments and the varied scenery enables a large number of sporting activities, like diving and sailing, cycling and hill walking. Kraljevica has a lot to offer, where every visitor can find something for himself or herself.
