This fortified small town from the Middle Ages is situated beside the river Mirna on a hill that offers a beautiful view over the undulating countryside of Istria. Although it only has two hundred inhabitants, Grožnjan is proud of its cultural life throughout the entire year. At this location there is a concert hall, a summer stage and about fifteen workshops that hold a variety of courses. In the summer, they almost constantly organise festivals, music schools and artistic workshops where the teachers are competent artists who live in Grožnjan. In the centre of the town there is the church of the Saints Vitus, Modesa and Cresentia, which has impressive decorations and valuable wooden pews.
For visitors who want an active holiday, Grožnjan offers the possibility of football, volleyball and bowls, and there are prepared cycle and footpaths.
